I came across this word by chance. It stopped me because it was strange: eunoia? How do you even pronounce that? So, I clicked on it and it led me to this definition: beautiful thinking; a well mind. And that blew my mind.
Beautiful thinking. Even the sentence sounds majestic, otherworldly, it puts me at peace. I've never known of a word to put me at peace. And what qualifies a beautiful thinker? John Green most definitely: "If people were rain, I'd be a drizzle and she'd be a hurricane" ~Looking for Alaska. Seriously, who comes up with that? And J.K. Rowling, too. Her magical world of Harry Potter could only be concocted by the most beautiful of minds: "The ones that love us never really leave us" ~Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I think Sarah Dessen is a beautiful thinker with so many beautiful messages it's hard to choose one. I think Gayle Forman is a beautiful thinker, putting the reader in a situation that you never thought you'd be in and making you think, "What would you do?" Who else is a beautiful thinker? Walt Disney, for sure. "That's the trouble with the world, too many people grow up." Emma Watson is a beautiful thinker. She played a part and has done so much to keep her alive, even if she doesn't realize it: "Young girls are told you have to be the delicate princess. Hermione taught them that you can be the warrior." This word, this strange, strange word, has literally changed my world. I don't know why; I can't explain it. I just know that from the second I read this word, everything felt a little clearer. Maybe because I learned something new. Maybe not. All I know is that it changed me and ever since I have been thinking about beautiful thinking. It's such a strange phrase. I love it. I love how it makes me feel. I love how I now have something to work towards: beautiful thinking. Leave a Reply. |
